Wahoo (Euonymus atropurpuraea)

This is a legendary uncrossing herb and I am sure many people doubted its existance. The quick spell for this is to make an infusion of the bark and then rub the infusion on the afflicted person's forehead while saying "Wahoo" seven times. It can also be used for success spells.

H423 Indian Arrowroot (Euonymus)

This is a small tree that only grows to 6' with smooth bark, purple-tinged leaves and purple flowers. A decoction made from the bark will stimulate the appetite and flow of gastric juices. It is also good for liver disorders. To make the decoction, use 1 ounce dry crushed bark per 1 pint of water. 15 seeds $1.95

HE188 - Dog Grass Root/Couch Grass/Witch Grass Root (Triticum repens) - Cut/Powdered - $4.00/ounce

This plant is almost impossible to eradicate if planted in the garden. If you obtain seeds for it, you should only plant it in a container. The name Dog Grass comes from the fact that it is used by dogs who seek it out when sick and eat the leaves as an emetic. It is also a valuable fodder for cattle since the roots are rich in carbohydrates. Roots have also have been roasted as a coffee substitute and, in times of famine, they have been dried and ground as a replacement for flour. In magick, it is used in happiness, love and exorcism mixtures.

HE714 - White Willow Bark (Salix alba) - Cut/Powdered - $4.00/ounce

White Willow (Salix alba) is possibly one of the best known plants in herbal medicine since it is where salicin comes from. While in ancient times the bark itself containing salicin which is a glucoside closely related to acetylsalicylic acid was used to create headache remedies, today we have salicylic acid - better known as Aspirin - which, of course, is synthetic today but its composition is based on the plant properties. Magickally, Willow is used in love, lust, divination, protection and healing spells and we should not forget that traditionally, brooms were bound with willow branches.

H093 Wintergreen (Gaultheria)

This native of North America is a shrubby evergreen perennial that only grows to about 6" tall. It has edible berries. The plant was once used to supply flavouring for candies, cough drops and toothpastes but, as with so much else in our modern society, the natural flavouring has been replaced by synthetics. Today the actual plant is mainly enjoyed by deer, partride and other animals for their winter food. It can be grown in any garden and makes a very attractive addition to them. Magickally, Wintergreen is used in hex-breaking, protection and healing blends. 10 seeds $1.95

HE733 - Witch Hazel Bark (Hamamelis virginia) - Cut/Powdered - $3.00/ounce

This plant is naturalized throughout much of Eastern US and Canada. The extract which you find in the store is a disillation of the extract of the bark, twigs and leaves which is then mixed with alcohol. It is used in protection and chastity blends.

HR215 Sweet Woodruff (Galium odoratum)

Spring would not be complete in Germany without this wonderful plant. Sprigs of Sweet Woodruff are used in making May wine. This perennial plant has become naturalized throughout southern Canada and northern US and grows into spreading clumps about 8-15" tall. Unlike the fragrance of most herbs, the hay-like aroma of Sweet Woodruff intensifies and can persist for years. This is explained by the presence of Coumarin in the herb which is often used as a fixitive in perfumes. The herb has been used in the past as a scenting herbs for homes, churches and even as a stuffing in mattresses. The aroma of dried leaves placed among linens give them a sweet odour and are reputed to keep moths away.

HR245 Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium)

This shrubby perennial grows in the wild mainly in temperate regions of Eastern North America. It reaches 3-5' with gray, silky foliage and leafy spikes of small, yellow flowers. It is easy to grow from seeds and makes an attractive addition to the garden. Powdered dust from Wormwood can be sprinkled on plants and the soil to deter many insects because they do not like the aroma. Today it is used mainly for its appearance and insect repelling properties than for anything else. It can also be used in magickal formulae that are not meant for internal consumption. You can use it in rituals to call spirits, to increase psychic powers, as well as those for protection and love. It was once widely used for its use in making Absinthe. 50 seeds $1.75
